The Family Tree, Roots and All

Creating a descendency chart from Jean Baril (1st generation), who emmigrated to Canada in 1665 that includes every man and woman created by his union with three wives, would contain millions of people. Don't choke. In a G2G WikiTree Post, a researcher does the simple math based on each descendant having on average 4 children. The Baril families have been quite prolific, some having over 20 children. Having a dozen is not that unusual, Suzanne is 8th of 12 children born between 1942 and 1964. In 2020 there are 14 generations, the 14th currently having only one child in Suzanne's family. The simple math on how many surving descendants could exist today is (1 x 4 ^ 13) or 1 times 4 to the power of 13. 67,108,864 That is a lot of people. We know that Jean had 15 sons. Let's say that we are going to be more conservative by using only 3 as the number of children on average and use this based on the fact that, being primarily catholics, there were a larger number of priests and nuns in the family. The result is still quite high. 15 x (1 x 3 ^ 12) or 15 times (1 times 3 to the power of 12) which is a mere 7,971,615. Or roughly 8 million people. The table linked here will provide a visual that might help to 'groc' this huge task. Here is a PDF of my calculations. I'll update the files as I get new and confirmed data.
