Welcome to BARIL.ORG (Français) and BARIL.NAME(English), an international center for research into the Baril group of families. The site aims to cover the period from about 1600 to modern times in Europe and from 1665 to 2020 in North America.

Each co-hosting author or researcher who posts content to BARIL.ORG or BARIL.NAME, or manages a link from it, is responsible for the originality and accuracy of the material presented and for having the intellectual integrity to declare copyright and give credit where credit is due.

Peter Baril (1945), creator of the original website baril.org with assistance from Suzanne Baril (1954), are distant cousins who met online in 1996. They share a common bond through their love of Genealogy and the history of the Baril Family. Suzanne is the main webmaster for the sites as they exist today and since their major update in 2019. There were many other people who assisted each of us in our work, they will be mentioned in the section related to the history of this project.
